Also thanks for the background information on Ito whom I didn't really know all that much about.

Somewhat off topic the poster at YouTube who uploaded these songs (popgear1967 さん) has some other pretty interesting posts as well. He/She uploaded other albums from artists such as 芳野藤丸, 角松敏生, 杉真理 and NOBODY as well as some of Ito's other albums. Definitely will subscribe to their channel and check these other posts out.JTMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05254345826668658358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2501670448657416824.post-48422282014746642013-03-02T22:46:18.919-05:002013-03-02T22:46:18.919-05:00Very nice writeup on Ginji Ito. Had never heard of him and after listening to the tracks, I checked "Japanese City Pop" and sure enough, he's got quite a few albums listed in there. Interesting that you mentioned him and Tatsuro Yamashita...in "Deadly Drive", you pointed out that Ito tried to channel Yamashita's sound. Well, looking at the cover for that album, it looks like he was trying to channel Yamashita's looks as well.

I have to say that my favourite tracks are the title track and the Hall & Oates-ish "One Way Ticket to the Moon". Of course, I'm a big H&O fan as well. J-Canuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09551828383307840403noreply@blogger.com
