Ai Kanzaki -- Pandora no Hako(パンドラの箱)

Last time we met singer-actress Ai Kanzaki(神崎愛), it was for her breezy samba-inflected "Russia Koucha wa Ikaga?"(ロシア紅茶はいかが?). The track belonged to her 1980 debut album "Today" and it featured Kanzaki's abilities on the flute.

Well, we're back for "Today" and another track, "Pandora no Hako" (Pandora's Box). The same songwriters are also back for this one: composer Yasuo Higuchi(樋口康雄)and lyricist Keisuke Yamakawa(山川啓介). There is the same level of urban and urbane breeziness although it looks like the saxophone and an electric guitar get their solos here this time around. With "Pandora no Hako", I get this sudden urge to go shopping around the main areas of Tokyo and then hit a nice restaurant for dinner.

I finished "Russia Koucha wa Ikaga?" with a sad piece of trivia regarding Kanzaki in which her beloved flute had been stolen from the Pacific Hotel in Tokyo back in 1994. Well, I'll finish this article with something a little happier. In 2000, she married diplomatic commentator Nobuo Miyamoto(宮本信生).
