It's basically disappeared here in the Toronto area.

Dunkin' Donuts had their time in Japan but they also faded out. Mister Donuts is still around with their brand of cake donuts.J-Canuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09551828383307840403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2501670448657416824.post-64415185215819452362019-10-14T11:48:01.056-04:002019-10-14T11:48:01.056-04:00Hi J-Canuck,

If the songs were not sung in Japanese they could have been played on any of my local radio stations at the time.

Just so you know, Krispy Kreme is still alive an well in "These United States." That Sunday drive I took was topped off with a stop at a Krispy Kreme located not even five blocks from my house.

However, the doughnut stores I really miss are the Winchell doughnut chain that disappeared decades ago. I got very nostalgic when watching an old Eiichi Ohtaki (RIP) fan made video that I had saved to my hard drive before it was purged from Youtube.

The only survivor of those type of late 20th century doughnut franchise I know of is still Dunkin'Donuts. And I'm not partial to their their products - including their coffee.

Anyway, thanks a lot.Chasing Showahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11576692314232316655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2501670448657416824.post-79946777391586377002019-10-14T11:08:01.312-04:002019-10-14T11:08:01.312-04:00Hi, Chasing Showa.

My parents never got into playing music in the car but I can certainly agree with you that these are Sunday drive-friendly tunes.:)J-Canuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09551828383307840403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2501670448657416824.post-71892741090447658092019-10-13T11:38:40.631-04:002019-10-13T11:38:40.631-04:00Hello J-Canuck,

It reminds me of my first car and the messy front passenger side seat with cassettes spilling onto the floor everywhere.

This is definitely a song where you're not going anywhere in particular just taking the old school "Sunday drive."

I think I'm going to do that right now.

Thanks!Chasing Showahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11576692314232316655noreply@blogger.com
