Buffalo natives Spyro Gyra was hot back then, and then there was Hiroshima with "One Wish" which got a lot of attention in the mid-1980s. Now, through the blog, I've discovered Casiopea and T-Square.J-Canuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09551828383307840403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2501670448657416824.post-51765252453810834532018-05-29T06:52:23.751-04:002018-05-29T06:52:23.751-04:00Well, well, well. I was not going to bring up this...Well, well, well. I was not going to bring up this artist but you did anyway.
I found out about Takanaka due to, you guessed it, a Youtube recommendation. Back in the Before Time (pre-Internet) I was totally into Jazz Fusion. Return To Forever, Hiroshima, Mahavishnu Orchestra, etc. When this popped up as a recommendation i was so happy!
I went out and got the album. My senpai's were into jazz, just like my parents, however they were into modern jazz. Or what would be considered modern jazz in the late 70s/early 80s. What would now be considered smooth jazz was born in that time.
And this album is definitely hype. It is a product of its time.Chasing Showahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11576692314232316655noreply@blogger.com
