I first came across the song when I borrowed a compilation tape from a friend here in Toronto which contained it. "U, Fu, Fu, Fu" just seemed perfect for summer radio playing because of the guitar and the strings. I could be in a hang glider flying over the wave crests listening to this one.
I've been a fan of Japanese popular music for 40 years, and have managed to collect a lot of material during that time. So I decided I wanted to talk about Showa Era music with like-minded fans. My particular era is the 70s and 80s (thus the "kayo kyoku"). The plus part includes a number of songs and artists from the last 30 years and also the early kayo. So, let's talk about New Music, aidoru, City Pop and enka.

EPO -- U, Fu, Fu, Fu, (う、ふ、ふ、ふ)

Just heard it on FM Sagami's live internet stream tonight. It's quite catchy!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's quite the chirpy and cheerful song isn't it? It's actually the first EPO song that I ever heard and it has stuck with me all these decades. Wonderful thing these live Internet radios!
