1981 Kohaku List of Singers (32nd edition)


Since I wrote about the Kohaku Utagassen yesterday, I decided to write down the list of the Red and White teams from that fateful year....for me, anyways. The above video is for Masahiko Kondo's (近藤真彦)"Gingiragin ni Sarigenaku" although not from the Kohaku itself.

    Yes, it was a very interesting mix...probably helped raise my interest in kayo kyoku and J-Pop. Not sure which song was the song of the night, though. But my personal favourites were Akira Terao and Hiromi Go. Have you seen a lot of the Kohakus?

    I have seen few late '80 and few early '90 Kohaku shows..from old tape recordings..somehow the recent ones kept me away..I only pick up names he he..

    Yeah, I think my keenest period for the Kohaku was pretty much from 1981 to 1986. But I still watch the show on New Year's Day here while I eat my o-zouni and o-sechi just to get an idea of who the popular acts are.
