Junichi Inagaki -- Ame no Regret (雨のリグレット)

Well, I didn't think I was gonna make another entry today, but then the Rainfall of the Year hit my hometown. An average month's worth of rain rammed into us within a space of 2 hours. Pretty nuts right now.

Jun'ichi Inagaki(稲垣潤一) made his debut as a solo singer with "Ame no Regret"(Rainy Regret) in January 1982 while he was doing his performances as a member of the band Faces through the Sendai live houses and US military bases. Labeled as "The Super Pop Vocal", Inagaki tackled this rather sad mid-tempo song of a relationship coming apart. Written by Reiko Yukawa(湯川れい子)and composed by former Off Course member Kazuhiko Matsuo(松尾一彦), the song pretty much set the template for Inagaki's smooth and laidback music. And since I didn't really pay too much attention to the lyrics, the melody has been mellow enough to get me into a more relaxed frame of mind. "Ame no Regret", by the way, also came out on Inagaki's first album, "246:3AM" later that year in July.

Stay safe, Toronto!
