The Square -- Make Me A Star

 

I'm sure that a lot of the folks featured on "Kayo Kyoku Plus" have dreamt that title when they first began their foray into show business. 

But for the good folks at The Square, "Make Me A Star" was not only the fusion band's debut single but it was also the title track from their third album...both of them were released on the first day of summer 1979. Composed by guitarist Masahiro Ando（安藤正容）, it's a snazzy rollicking piece which has the jazz and groovy AOR feelings but also a dollop of disco. "Make Me A Star" was also used to advertise the Sony Trinitron television...man, they made them big and thick back in the day, didn't they?📺
