Misia -- Shining Star

One of my favourite non-single songs by Misia, it followed the epic "Hatenaku Tsuzuku Story"(果てなく続くストーリー)on her 4th album, "Kiss In The Sky" from September 2002. As much as I love that ballad on its own and as the NHK theme song for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, it was nice to have the sunny and happy groove of "Shining Star" to lighten things up near the end of the album.

Written by Misia and composed by Jun Sasaki(佐々木潤), "Shining Star" was aptly titled since it did stand out amongst some of the other tracks on "Kiss In The Sky", and I liked how Misia gave part of the refrain that American hip-hop delivery. Perhaps it didn't get its own single release, but I think even her minor songs can also have major benefits for her fans.
