Dick Mine -- Aru Ame no Gogo(或る雨の午後)

Amazon.jp

Just for interest's sake, I checked out which singers were born today, October 5th, and the Internet informed me that Showa Era crooner Dick Mine(ディック・ミネ)was one such person. He would have been 114 years old today, but he actually passed away in June 1991 at the age of 82.

Mine and composer Masao Koga(古賀政男)had been songwriting partners for some time when the latter left Teichiku Records, leaving the former with a new composer Tokujiro Okubo(大久保徳二郎), a jazz saxophonist. In January 1939, Okubo came up with his first creation for Mine, "Aru Ame no Gogo" (One Rainy Afternoon) with lyrics by Kinya Shimada(島田磬也).

A sweet song about remembering a past romance with a young lady, walking hand-in-hand down the street, it was arranged into a danceable tune with that tango rhythm. According to J-Wiki, Mine, Shimada and Okubo ended up making beautiful music together as they became known as one hitmaking trio.
