I've been a fan of Japanese popular music for 40 years, and have managed to collect a lot of material during that time. So I decided I wanted to talk about Showa Era music with like-minded fans. My particular era is the 70s and 80s (thus the "kayo kyoku"). The plus part includes a number of songs and artists from the last 30 years and also the early kayo. So, let's talk about New Music, aidoru, City Pop and enka.

Sing Like Talking -- Our Dream
"Our Dream" wasn't actually released as a separate single but was included as a new track on Sing Like Talking's 1998 Best album, "Second Reunion". It's another smooth-as-silk adult contemporary piece crooned by Chikuzen Sato(佐藤竹善). Once again, I think that love for Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers is still intact. As for "Second Reunion", it peaked at No. 3 on the album charts.
One small piece of trivia concerning Sato that I will include since this entry will be pretty short. He has been complimented on his delivery of English lyrics to the extent that his fans have wondered if he had lived overseas for a period of time. Apparently not. Just pure linguistic talent and probably a lot of practice.
