I had no idea that there was a music video attached to this song. Actually, I had known about "Crazy Lover" through the TDK audiotape commercials that Kahoru Kohiruimaki (小比類巻かほる)used to plug for some years. Perhaps this is just as well, since the video seems to make everything in it, including Kohhy, look sluggish for some reason. Even with the quick cutting, it was pretty evident that the singer wasn't exactly too dynamic in the choreography.
Yep, it's probably better just to listen to "Crazy Lover" from the CD or whatever audio medium exists for the average Kohiruimaki fan. The song is from her 7th album, "Distance" which came out in October 1990. After the fanfare-ish title track, "Crazy Lover" slinks in like a panther on the prowl as Kohhy's lyrics describe a potentially dangerous night on the town with the background of Yoshiaki Ohuchi's(大内義昭) combination of down-and-dirty guitar and high-falutin' strings. Perhaps Prince had quite the lasting impression on the duo after his contribution to her previous album, "Time The Motion".
The album also has an even more urgent song, "Moving Action". As for "Crazy Lover", it was also the coupling song to her 15th single, "Like A Factory", another song on "Distance".
Well, the above isn't the exact TDK commercial featuring "Crazy Lover" but it is one of the Kohiruimaki issues.
