Chris Hart -- I Love You

It's been quite a while but last night, "Uta Con"(うたコン)viewers got to see singer-songwriter Chris Hart on the stage for the first time in about three years. People were wondering what had become of him, and according to Hart, he took some time off to spend more of it on his family and also to learn more about the craft of songwriting and production. But it looks like he is back.

Last night, Hart performed the song that was his second single and his first original single, "I Love You", which was released in February 2014. His performance on the NHK stage was great but it was this original version that pulled at my heartstrings. It's that tenderhearted pop ballad with a touch of soul pulled ahead by Hart's touching vocals that gets me right there. I wouldn't be surprised if this has been used at wedding receptions for the past number of years.

Written by H.U.B. and Misako Sakazume(坂詰美紗子)and composed by Sakazume, the original single hit No. 30 on Oricon. "I Love You" also got onto his first album of original songs, "Song For You", released in March 2014 and hitting No. 7 on the charts.
