"Toshishita no Otokonoko" ended up as the 42nd-ranked song of 1975 and earned The Candies their first appearance on the Kohaku. It was written by Kazuya Senke(千家和也)and composed by Yusuke Hoguchi(穂口雄右), and the record sold approximately 260,000 copies.
I've been a fan of Japanese popular music for 40 years, and have managed to collect a lot of material during that time. So I decided I wanted to talk about Showa Era music with like-minded fans. My particular era is the 70s and 80s (thus the "kayo kyoku"). The plus part includes a number of songs and artists from the last 30 years and also the early kayo. So, let's talk about New Music, aidoru, City Pop and enka.

Here they are performing the song in the 1975 Kohaku. The red mascot has trouble keeping her head on near the end, but she's adorable.

Hi there. Thanks for the Kohaku version of the song. I would guess that anyone with the name of Hiromi Iwasaki would look adorable even in an animal costume. :)
DeleteAnother cover of Toshishita no Otokonoko, this time by Three Degrees.
