Saho Nozaki -- Baby's Talk

Hi there! Welcome to the end of another work week as we are about to enter the third weekend of 2021. So, let's start off with some City Pop to ease ourselves in, and the singer today is another one of those figures about whom very little information exists online.

In fact, the only source of information that I could find was at MEG-CD in which singer Saho Nozaki's(野崎沙穂)discography apparently consisted of three albums and five singles. Her debut was in 1985 but this particular song "Baby's Talk" is from her third album "Sympathy" (1988). Nozaki knew her urban contemporary melodies since she was the one behind the music for this late 80s City Pop piece with all of the champagne-and-caviar synths and wailing guitar. Kazuko Kobayashi(小林和子)took care of the lyrics.

There's some very nice West Shinjuku strut in "Baby's Talk" with all of the horns, bass and backup chorus that an arranger can throw a stick at.
