And here I'd thought that Poseidon Ishikawa was going to be the goofy novelty act of the week on "Kayo Kyoku Plus". Well, that thought has gone the wayside. Instead, that award is going to go to someone that I had actually written about years ago here on KKP. Actor/wrestler Richard Magarey immortalized himself in Japanese pop culture over half a decade ago thanks to his Chris Hemsworth physique and Usagi Tsukino fashion sense which have been merged into the persona known as Ladybeard.
He joined up with aidoru Rie Kaneko（金子理江）and Rei Kuromiya（黒宮れい）to form the kawaii metal trio Ladybaby, and I was able to post an article about their "Nippon Manju" (ニッポン饅頭) from 2015. But I also noted that Ladybeard had left the group and openly wondered where he went to.
As a matter of fact, according to his Wikipedia article, in 2017 he created a new group called Deadlift Lolita with bodybuilder and wrestler Reika Saiki (才木玲佳）and guitarist Isao Fujita（藤田勲）. However early last year, Ladybeard made yet another group with singers Suzu and Kotomi. Called Babybeard, they released a single called "Nippon kara Konnichiwa" (Hello from Japan), and it really is kawaii metal. All I can say is that Magarey probably needed a few packages of Sucrets to get through the recording. The same duo behind "Nippon Manju" was also behind "Nippon kara Konnichiwa": lyricist Natsumi Tadano（只野菜摘）and composer Takashi Asano（浅野尚志）.
