Heck of a time to think of summer nights now that we in Toronto are in our first full day of winter 2023, but we can try to dream of the hot and humid time that we had several months ago and that we will have again in another several months.
Over two years ago, I posted a groovy little number called "Let Yourself Go" from a collaborative album between singer Marlene and fusion band Seawind titled "Summer Nights" from July 1982. Well, this time, I've got the title track from the album, and it's a bit more uptempo with the alternately funky and mellow horns swinging everywhere along with Marlene's velvety vocals. The temperatures may not be too balmy out there but at least we can sweat vicariously to this tune.
