Well, we're at about 17 degrees Celsius. We even had some brilliant sun earlier this morning but the clouds have returned and it's spitting rain out there. But at least we can say that we finally have some spring out there. It was a long cold winter so we'll take anything we can get, but it's almost as if Old Man Winter were saying "Not so fast, Torontonians!".
I've been a fan of Japanese popular music for 40 years, and have managed to collect a lot of material during that time. So I decided I wanted to talk about Showa Era music with like-minded fans. My particular era is the 70s and 80s (thus the "kayo kyoku"). The plus part includes a number of songs and artists from the last 30 years and also the early kayo. So, let's talk about New Music, aidoru, City Pop and enka.

This is some cool J-Rock! Maybe Junko Mihara could take up rock again and have the Prime Minister join in on the drums. This does make me wonder how many other members in the government are former musicians or artist.
ReplyDeleteHello, Brian. It would be a most amusing thing to see this duo perform at some international gathering. I know that there is something like this on the diplomatic calendar where heads of state are often invited to perform in some sort of "talent" contest.
