Happy weekend! When it comes to the classic 1980s anime "Touch"(タッチ)based on Mitsuru Adachi's(あだち充)manga, the only song that has come to mind is the 1950s rockabilly sound of the theme song of the same name by Yoshimi Iwasaki(岩崎良美). But apparently, there were a number of songs attached to the project.
For example, I found this insert song from the series titled "Minami no Kaze ~ Natsu no Shojo" (Minami's Wind ~ Summer Girl) sung by late 80s aidoru and tarento Aki Asakura(浅倉亜季). It was also released as Asakura's debut single in May 1986, and in comparison to Iwasaki's magnum opus, "Minami no Kaze" has more of that early 1980s aidoru with all of that summer goodness and breeziness, especially with the singer's high and cute vocals. It was written by Masao Urino(売野雅勇)and composed by Hiroaki Serizawa(芹澤廣明).
As for Asakura, the Tokyo-born singer won the Miss Minami-chan contest to become the real-life image girl for the main character of Minami Asakura(浅倉南). She was actually born Aki Okura(大倉亜季)but manga author Adachi himself put the character's family name for Okura's stage name, and thus her career in show business began. However, her time in the singing spotlight was brief, only releasing 6 singles up to April 1988, although a compilation album of her work was released in 2002.
