It's good to have chanteuse Kimiko Kasai(笠井紀美子)back on "Kayo Kyoku Plus" after a while. I guess I seem to have opted for looking at the individual tracks on her 1977 album "Tokyo Special" instead of looking at the entire album. Well, so be it. I think thus far, I've taken care of "Vibration", "Very Special Moment" and "Yarikake no Jinsei"(やりかけの人生).
For today, we have Kasai's "Take Me" which was written by Kazumi Yasui(安井かずみ)and composed by Hiromasa Suzuki(鈴木宏昌). Amply aided by the singer's velvety yet soaring vocals, "Take Me" is a wonderfully delectable slow burn of a song describing someone falling head over heels in love. The gentle funk and the disco strings set up a nice image in my brain of what the good life was like for some of the people back in the 1970s whether it be in an apartment in Toronto or in a brownstone in New York. With the summer coming around the corner, it's a nice image to have.
