Back in late 2021, I found this rather obscure Japanese fusion band centering around the late keyboardist Takehiro Honda(本田竹広)and saxophonist Kousuke Mine(峰厚介)known as Native Son(ネイティブ・サン). From their 1979 debut album "Native Son", I liked the cut of their jib when it came to one of the tracks "Whispering Eyes".
Well, another track which is even more party hearty on a tropical island is "Wind Surfing". Composed by Honda, I'm sure that it makes for a nice accompaniment to any of those wind surfers out there on the ocean or lake (as would be the case in my neck of the woods). However, this particular track brings more of the dancing-at-poolside sort of sensation. And of course, there will be plenty of pina coladas and margaritas to go around.
According to J-Wiki, between the 1980s and 2000s, "Wind Surfing" and one other track on "Native Son", "Super Safari", have been in use as background music on a number of Japanese television shows and radio programs. Man, I hope the band members knew their royalty rights back then.
