Yutaka Kimura Speaks ~ Japanese City Pop Masterpieces 100: Hiroshi Takano -- Yume no Naka de Aeru desho(夢の中で会えるでしょう)

Number: 087

Lyricist: Hiroshi Takano

Composer: Hiroshi Takano

Arranger: Ryuichi Sakamoto

From Takano's 1994 single "Yume no Naka de Aeru desho"

A song originally offered to The Kingtones(ザ・キングトーンズ), "Yume no Naka de Aeru desho" is a distant relative to Sugar Babe's(シュガーベイブ)"Downtown". In all likelihood, the song was created with the gentle approach of Kingtones' vocalist Masato Uchida(内田正人)in mind, and its clear and amiable melody paired with its timeless lyrics especially shine within Hiroshi Takano's(高野寛)discography. Ryuichi Sakamoto's(坂本龍一)arrangement is also a highlight.

The above comes from "Disc Collection Japanese City Pop Revised" (2020).
