I'M YOSEI POPINS, Y'ALL!
Yeah, sorry about that...just a lot of allergies today and the Reactin isn't reactin'.
Anyways the unmarvelous Marvel pun is due to the topic of this article today, the duo Popins（ポピンズ）consisting of Emi Kaneko（金子恵実）and Emiko Haga（芳賀絵巳子）, both from Nagoya. According to the aidoru magazine "DELUXE Magazine", in the early days when they were junior high school students in the early 1980s, they stood side by side through all of the aidoru auditions until they got their big break on a talent program in their hometown. Soon after that, Popins was born.
Kaneko and Haga made their debut under that name in April 1986 with "Yosei Popins" (Fairy Popins). Written by Masao Urino（売野雅勇）and composed by Daisuke Inoue（井上大輔）with arrangement by Nobuyuki Shimizu（清水信之）, the song is so adorable that I wanted to pinch the song's cheeks. Plus, it kinda has that 1960s pop feeling which reminded me slightly of "Georgy Girl".
Popins would release three more singles and an album up to 1987 before calling it a day.
