It's been about a couple of years since I put up my most recent Yoko Oginome(荻野目洋子)article for "Mushi no Tsubuyaki"(虫のつぶやき), although Oliver Ebisuno 92 has been keeping her file nice and healthy with his own articles on the former 80s aidoru singer such as "This Is Pop".
Well, it's time for me to delve into her discography once more and this time, I found the coupling song to her 22nd single, "Bijo to Yajuu"(美女と野獣)from June 1991. "I Know You" still follows the R&B line that the "A-side" does, in contrast to her earlier Eurobeat hits, but unlike the dance-funk of "Bijo to Yajuu", which was concocted by none other than Toshinobu Kubota(久保田利伸), "I Know You" has more of the New Jack Swing and some soul. In fact, I'd say that this particular number has that sunny-day sensibility compared to the get-down nighttime of its significant other.
"I Know You" was written by Wakako Kaku(覚和歌子)and composed by Yoichiro Kakizaki(柿崎"wacky"洋一郎). The single itself went up to No. 20 on Oricon.
