Toshiki Kadomatsu -- Widow on the Shore ( Beach's Widow )

Well, this fellow was up here in the early days of this summer, so why not have him back in the last few days of the season?

Toshiki Kadomatsu(角松敏生)makes it awfully tempting for me to buy his old albums. I got his "Sea Is A Lady" earlier in the year, and now I'm wondering about getting his 1984 release, "Summer Time Romance~From KIKI". I'm definitely won over with one of the tracks there "Widow on the Shore (Beach's Widow)".

Apparently, the gimmick with "Summer Time Romance" is that the tracks are presented as if they were a part of a playlist on a radio station with DJ Kamasami Kong doing the intros. "Widow on the Shore" certainly sounds like it and radio were meant for each other. I love the relaxing pace and the chorus work although the title sounds a bit depressing. However, the song is perfect as a number for a sunset in the waning days of the season.

We had another hot one in the city today...Humidex of 35 degrees. But the weather folks are saying that this weekend will most likely be the last sustained burst of heat and humidity for this year. It'll gradually be heading for that meteorological image that Canada has for the rest of the world from here onwards.
