Tomiko Kobayashi -- Koi suru Magic Power(恋するマジックパワー)

I completely forgot that I'd actually written about singer Tomiko Kobayashi(小林登美子)almost three years ago for her "Natsu e no Express"(夏へのエクスプレス).

Well, as with that track on her "Soul Wonderland" album from September 1994, "Koi suru Magic Power" (Loving Magic Power) is also another brassy uptempo tune. With music by Kazuki Katagiri(片桐和紀), words by Neko Oikawa(及川眠子)and arrangement by Motoki Funayama(船山基紀), I think this particular track has less City Pop than "Natsu e no Express" but even more of that ol' Motown sound. That's good with me, too, and once again, I get those Keizo Nakanishi(中西圭三)vibes.

That author on the "90s City Pop Record Book" site mentioned in his February 2017 article on "Soul Wonderland" that any sightings for the album have been rare, so if you're lucky to come across it online or even on a dusty shelf in an old/used CD shop in Japan, grab it.
